Bank of the West - Fruita Fall Festival

You can almost hear downtown Fruita bustling with the sounds of a carnival, street vendors and bluegrass music
as preparations for the 91st annual Bank of the West Fruita Fall Festival move forward. This is the 91st year for the event in downtown Fruita, and 2005 will prove to be one of the best years for the festival.

The Bank of the West Fruita Fall Festival is planned by the Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce each year as the major fundraiser for the organization. Many local organizations benefit from the festival through beer and concession sales. The Festival is put on as a community event, and there is never a charge for entrance. The Fall Festival is always held during the last full weekend of September.

Generous community businesses, like RE/MAX 4000, support the festival through sponsorship. This year the festival is proud to have RE/MAX 4000 as our bluegrass stage sponsor. The monetary donation they provide has allowed the event to invest more funding into attracting popular bluegrass performers to the festival. The 2005 festival will feature regional bluegrass bands like the Bluegrass Patriots, Elliott's Ramblers and the Ackermans. The stage will also welcome the Hoofin' High Country Cloggers from eastern Colorado.

Along with investment into the bluegrass stage, over the past few years the festival has moved to a juried format for vendor selection. Each vendor is reviewed by a committee and is accepted based on creativity of the product they sell and presentation.

With over 150 juried arts, crafts, food & service vendors, plus a parade, a softball tournament, a carnival, an art show, a youth pet & talent show, a youth art contest, a street dance, a comedy night, a horseshoe tournament, a bed race, a baking & canning contest, the Rimrock Rodeo finals and a full weekend of free music -- this family event is packed full of events for everyone.

Businesses or individuals interested in supporting the festival are encouraged to call the Chamber office at 858-3894 or visit us online at www.fruitafallfestival.com. A complete listing of events and times can also be found on our web site. (...go back)
