Mesa State College
The Mesa State College Foundation has played a key role in providing funding to the College for scholarships and program support and ties the community to the College. Many of our team members at RE/MAX 4000 are proud to have served on the board and many have contributed financially as well. With several alum on staff we continue to see the importance of higher education in our community and are greatly rewarded by seeing young people in our community fulfill their dreams, go to college, and enter the world with a strong education, foundation and appreciation for our area.
Established in 1961, the Mesa State College Foundation, originally was the fund-raising agent for the college, providing educational opportunities beyond what is available from the State. Although the Foundation is no longer chartered with fund-raising, the Foundation continues to serve as a charitable non-profit organization 501(c) (3) designation and retains fiduciary responsibility for the investment of the funds entrusted to the Foundation. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of local citizens who serve without compensation and recognize the importance of a quality education, and give their individual and collective time as well as talent and expertise to ensure the success of the Foundation.
The Mesa State College Foundation administers over 300 academic and leadership scholarships that are made available to incoming freshmen, transfer, returning, and continuing students. For further information concerning scholarship opportunities please contact the Financial Aid Office at 970-248-1396 orvisit www.mesastate.edu

The Mesa State College Foundation offers a variety of ways to support the College.
A cash gift is the simplest way to give to the college. However many other possible financial contributions are greatly appreciated and may help you plan your own financial future.
Gifts of appreciated securities receive an income tax deduction and may avoid capital gains on the transfer.
Land or other real estate may be given to the Foundation as an outright gift or used as an asset within a charitable trust. You may prefer to give your home and retain the right to occupy the property for your lifetime. Personal property can also be contributed.
Planned gifts benefit both the donor and the college and can be planned through your financial advisors & provide significant benefits including tax deductions, avoidance of capital gains taxes and increased income.
Irrevocable charitable remainder trusts can provide you or your loved one with an income for life that varies with the type of assets of the trust. Part of the trust qualifies for an income tax deduction. At the death of the last beneficiary, the remainder of the trust is distributed to the College for the purpose selected by the donor.
When you give a life insurance policy to the Foundation, the approximate present cash surrender value of the policy is deductible as a charitable contribution. If you continue to pay premiums after your gift, they are also deductible.
For more information, other possible financial contributions and arrangements for giving a gift, contact the Mesa State College Foundation at 970-248-1295 or the Director of Development, Craig Glogowski at 970-248-1410.
